Scale Snap
Flip two cards at a time and find the matching snake markings. Every pair you find reveals which snake wears that pattern, using facts from our venomous or not ID guide.
What this game teaches
Eight real markings described in the ID guide, six per game: the adder's zigzag, the copperhead's hourglass bands, US coral snake versus milk snake band order, the puff adder's chevrons, Russell's viper's chain-like spots, the common krait's thin paired bands and the boa's saddle blotches. The card art is a simplified drawing of each pattern, not a photo, so real snakes will look different. Patterns alone are not a safe way to identify a snake; see our safety page. There is no sound. Your best (fewest moves) is saved only in your browser.
